LeBron or Jordan? Caitlin Clark or Maya Moore? Everyone has an opinion, but have you ever had the chance to cast a ballot for it? On Tuesday, October 6, BHS will participate in the 2026 Iowa Youth Straw Poll, a statewide mock election sponsored by the Iowa Secretary of State's Office. Through a digital ballot, students will have the opportunity to learn about the candidates, cast a vote, and compare Bettendorf's results with those of students across Iowa. The Youth Straw Poll is a nonpartisan educational activity designed to help students better understand elections and civic engagement. Watch for more information and the voting link as October 6 approaches.
